The Big Sister Report

We had nine months of trying to prepare Madison for what it would be like to be a Big Sister, but now after a few weeks of actually having a little brother in the house we thought we'd hear her thoughts on this life changing event. In the days before Hudson's birth we asked her what she thought would be different once he arrived. She said, "I think I'll be bigger and maybe my hair will look different." Go figure!! She also talked a lot about being a big helper...and that she is!

Here's a list of Madison's likes and dislikes thus far, and some memorable things she has said as she gets to know the new member of her family.

Likes:
"I like holding Hudson, and rocking him, and kissing him, and snuggling him."
"I get to read him books because he's not big enough yet."
"I have to teach him lots of things because I'm his big sister."

Dislikes:
"I don't like his crying, or his POOPY PANTS...YUCK!"
"At first I was a little jealous, but after I got to hold him I wasn't, but sometimes I'm still jealous."

A memorable moment:
In the car one day, Madison stares at Hudson sitting beside her with a look of uncertainty and says, "Mommy, can he go back in your belly now?" I guess, a little jealousy is a healthy and normal thing!! Thankfully she eventually says, "He can stay out!"

All in all Madison is a sweet, gentle, and loving big sister. She is quick to check on him if he makes a noise. He's the first one she asks to see when she gets home from school, and the first thing she asks when she wakes up is, "Where's Hudson?" I think its safe to say that she loves her little brother and knows he's here to stay!

We've survived the first 2 weeks!

Hudson came home from the hospital two weeks ago today, and the first few weeks at home have flown by! I don't know where the time has gone...other then to feeding, changing diapers, doing laundry, reading books, giving baths, playing dolls, and a little rest. I finally have both children taking a nap (mini victory for a Mom of two), and I am able to officially create my first post to our family blog. Once I get the hang of this I will be more efficient at updating all that we are up to on a more regular basis. So far, we are all adjusting to life as a family of four, and enjoying the blessing of having Hudson in our lives. We've had many visitors, generous gifts and delicious meals come our way, along with constant help from "MomMom"(Brian's Mom) who has graciously been with us for the month. Hopefully reality won't hit us too hard once the meals end and MomMom leaves at the end of the week! However, for now I am truly loving life and couldn't ask for more!

He's Here!!!

Well, Hudson actually decided to come on his due date. He was born today at 2:31pm. He weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 20 3/4 inches long. We are all doing well, and Madison is thrilled to be a big sister. Here are a few pictures of his first hours.

Talk to you all soon.

Hudson Allen Mosier's Status

Hello All-
We just wanted to give you all an update on Baby Hudson's status. Although I have thought I was in labor several times this week, nothing seems to be strong enough yet to get this guy moving. I have already been to the hospital once over the weekend and sent back home, so we should be ready any day now. If he doesn't arrive in the next few days we are currently scheduled to have an induction this Friday morning at 6am. Please pray for us along with Madison for a smooth delivery. We will keep you posted when we have any news.

Thanks,
Kristen & Brian
