It Was Only A Matter Of Time
This afternoon Madison, Hudson and I were playing in her room. I needed to got to the other room for a minute, so I put Hudson in his exersaucer and asked Madison to play with him for a minute until I got back. A few minutes went by and Madison came to me and asked in a sneaky little voice with a chuckle, "Mommy, have you seen my purple crown?" "You just had it on," I replied. When we went back into the room where Hudson was we both laughed when I saw where her crown went! I always new it would only be a matter of time before this happened.....and today it did! (See pictures below) Hudson seemed to enjoy playing dress-up almost as much as Madison...for now anyway!

Just another weekend
It was a pretty ordinary weekend around our house, no major stories, just usual cuteness from Madison and Hudson. So, I thought I'd share some photos of them playing and hanging out. Hudson practiced sitting up on his own and playing with toys in a whole new way.
Madison set herself up on the recliner and relaxed while watching a little movie one evening.
After one of Hudson's naps, Madison surprised him by getting into the crib with him (with Daddy's help). He's usually happy to see her!
We love the weekends!

The Circle of Life
It was an interesting weekend in the the Mosier house...mainly in Madison's fish tank. It started out with some sad news for Madison. Her first fish, Princess Emma, died on Friday, February 15th and had her proper fish funeral by being flushed away (which Madison did not watch). She had a moment or two of sadness, then was full of questions as to why she died, if she was in Heaven, how we get to Heaven, and so on. Poor Madison!! Her sadness though was quickly turned to happiness when we told her that she could go pick out a new fish on Saurday.
While we were at the pet store Madison decided that she wanted a few little fish instead of one big one, so we asked the sales person to recommend a good mix of fish that would be appropriate for her tank size. She ended up with three differnent "Molly" fish. One white one that she named Lena, a black one that she named Blacky and a red one that she named Molly. Before we put the new fish into the tank, we noticed that one of the fish had a school of baby fish inside the bag. We called the pet store to ask what to do because the fish were eating the babies. They said that the babies would probably not survive, that it was a natural for the other fish to eat them and putting the babies in the tank would help the tank. So we did that, and Madison had to watch as the babies did not survive. She was ok with this and all was well on Sunday. Monday morning comes around and Molly did not look too good. She was nose down hiding in the plastic tree. I told Brin to take a look, and he said that Blacky had been raming into it, and it looked like he finally killed her. So we had another fish funeral and had to tell Madison that another fish did not make it and that it was Blacky that did it. Before Blacky could kill the other fish we decided to take it out and bring it back to the pet store today. Madison was mad at her new "mean fishy" and gladly took him back. (You can see her saying "Bad Fish" to Blacky in the picture)
Apparently the first sales person did not advise us well and our tank was too small for all three fish of that size, so Blacky was claiming his space. He went back to the store anyway and we got our money back, Madison kept the one white fish, Lena, and got a tiny cat fish that stays and sucks on the tank to clean it. We were assured that they would be fine together. I guess we will see!! Nothing like experiencing life and death through a child's fish tank!

Hudson is 5 months!
It has been a busy and fast month, so I can't even believe I am writing this entry already. This month our little man has been having fun with his newest abilities. I have already told you how much he seems to enjoy the little rice cereal he has been eating. Well, he also enjoys drinking a few sips from my water bottle. Water bottles catch his attention and get him really excited until he gets a sip. Since he is able to sit supported so well, he enjoys swinging outside and feeling the breeze on his face. His latest accomplishment is to be able to roll in both directions. He has been able to roll from belly to back for a while, but he finally figured out how to get his chubby body from back to belly. I have a video clip of him doing this below, but he has already improved even since I shot this clip.
All in all he is still his happy go lucky self. He now even tries to get us to laugh by repreatedly squealing, yelling or grunting at us. He likes when we mimic his sounds, and then when we look away, he does it again until we acknowledge and copy him. It's a new game he created that we all enjoy playing with him...especially Madison. Favorite toys are currently moving objects like trains, cars, and anything with lights and sounds and puppets.
I don't have any current height and weight stats since we have not been to the doctor, but by the way my back feels I am guessing he is in the 18-20 pound range. I have given up on him sleeping through the night just yet. This way I will be pleasantly surprised when I do finally get a good night's sleep again!!
( I couldn't get the video to upload, so I will try again tomorrow)

New Backyard Fun
This weekend Brian completed a project that has been a long time coming. We have wanted a swingset in the backyard, but just could not find a size that was appropriate for our yard. With the help of Mr. Morgan from our church, they built a small swingset just for our backyard. Brian was thrilled to get this done, and Madison and Hudson are just as thrilled. Madison was so excited she said, "I don't even need to go to the park anymore. I have my own swing right in my yard!" She just lets herself out and swings away. Hudson enjoys chilling in it too!
